The Colorado Cleantech Industry Association Honors Clear Comfort’s Rapid Growth and Innovative Technology
Denver, Colo. — Tuesday, Oc. 28, 2014 — Clear Comfort Water, a Boulder-based cleantech startup, last night was awarded Breakout Cleantech Company of the Year at the Colorado Cleantech Industry Association Awards Celebration.
The award recognizes Colorado companies that are impacting the marketplace with innovative clean technologies, creating jobs in the local economy, and successfully scaling the technologies.
“Colorado’s cleantech companies and individuals are making such significant strides that it was difficult to choose one winner for each category,” said Chris Shapard, CCIA’s executive director, in a statement. “These individuals and companies represent the exceptional leadership and advanced technology development native to the state of Colorado. We look forward to seeing their continued success.”
Clear Comfort, founded in March 2014, has successfully adapted a water sanitation technology previously used in industrial applications to the pool and spa industry, eliminating or reducing the need for chlorine in pools. In September, Clear Comfort was awarded an Advanced Industries (AI) Accelerator Programs Grant by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), enabling the company to expand into new markets.
“We are honored to receive this award,” said Clear Comfort CEO Steve Berens. “We believe our system has the ability to transform the pool and spa industry, improving the swimming experience for pool owners to competitive swimmers.”
